In Stuttgart shopping Sundays happen only in the districts, never in the city centre. The public order office set the 2026 dates in a general order of 24 November 2025: fairs, autumn festivals and markets in Bad Cannstatt, Weilimdorf, Sillenbuch, Zuffenhausen, Feuerbach, Vaihingen, Hedelfingen, Möhringen, Degerloch and Untertürkheim. The city later revoked two dates because the festivals were cancelled: Vaihingen on 10 May and Bad Cannstatt on 8 November. The “Musik und Wein” date in Bad Cannstatt moved from 12 April to 10 May. That leaves 13 entries for 2026 on the list. Hours vary: some districts open from noon to 5 pm, others from 1 pm to 6 pm. In Baden-Württemberg each town may release no more than three days a year, and Advent is barred. No general order for 2027 had appeared yet.
District fairs instead of Königstraße
Stuttgart’s list reads like a festival calendar of its districts: the Feuerbach and Degerloch fairs, the Weilimdorf and Vaihingen autumn festivals, the Fleckenfest in Zuffenhausen, the Knausbira Sunday in Hedelfingen. Only Weilimdorf and Sillenbuch have two dates; every other district has one. That fits the law: with three days, Baden-Württemberg allows the fewest Sundays of any state.
The revocations show how closely festival and opening are linked. If the festival goes, so does the Sunday. We record such changes once the city publishes them; the sources in the table lead to each general order. Another large city in the state: Karlsruhe.
