Landshut splits its four shopping Sundays between two areas: the historic old town and the north-west area with the Münchnerau business park. For 2026 the city’s marketing office announced four dates: 22 March for the spring markets in the north-west, 3 May for the spring day with antiques market in the old town, 4 October for the autumn markets in the north-west, and 11 October for the autumn market with volunteering day in the old town. Shops open from 1 pm each time; the accompanying programme starts earlier. Under the Bavarian act opening may last no more than five consecutive hours between 10 am and 6 pm. We did not find the ordinance itself on the city’s pages; the dates come from the city’s portal and its marketing office’s announcements. Nothing has been published for 2027 yet.
Two areas, two dates each
Landshut shows a typical split for a mid-sized town: the old town with its specialist shops opens for markets in May and October, the business park on the edge of town for its own spring and autumn markets. Both locations get two Sundays, and the town stays at the maximum of four.
Because the ordinance is not online, the dates rest on the city portal and the marketing office. That is an official source, but not the ordinance’s wording; we note this in the table. Other Bavarian cities: Nuremberg and Munich.
